OMG!! The math skills among some of these answers is atrocious! Listen up people!
1,000,000,000 is the numeral for 1 billion.
1,000,000 is the numeral for 1 million.
1 billion has 3 more zeros than 1 million.
1,000 has 3 zeros.
Therefore 1 billion is a thousand times greater than 1 million.
It doesn't matter where you are in the world!
So the answer is it takes one thousand millions to make a billion.
