I want the costume to be true to history where would I look to get color ideas? My little history memory makes me think that they all had some sort of distinguishing color in their clothing that made them easier to recognize.

Definitely a good idea...Athenian, Greek, Venus, Medusa, Atlantis...these are Greek related Goddess ideas. If you are simply looking for pictures, there are many here: http://www.costumzee.com/tag/greek+goddess/

I am sure you'll be a hit, this is not really a popular costume idea, but you'll surely come out of the Halloween crowd!

I hope this helps.

traditionally, the greek gods and goddesses wern't depicted with closhes on, most of the time, and when they did, it was just normal robes, often with a teat sticking out.
