Split- when you have 2 pins left after your first go but are too far apart too hit with 1 bowl
Strike- all pins down with first ball
spare- all the pins down by the end of your second bowl
half-strike- same as a spare
turkey- 3 strikes in a row
gutter ball- a ball thats gone into the gutter (beleive it or not)

Strike: Knock down all 10 pins with your first ball.
Spare: Knock down all 10 pins with 2 balls
Mark: A strike or a spare
Turkey: 3 strikes in a row
Lane: Where you roll the ball towards the pins
Gutter: The troughs on the sides of the lane where your ball will fall if you don't throw it straight
