I am fresh grad with a degree in engg. I havent startde working yet , but I would love to do something on my own . At the moment I dont have the finance to start something on my own . What do you think is the right age for anyone to do something on their own ?
20-25 ?
25-30 ? or beyond ?
Is couple of year work experience and then an MBA a good way to proceed in that direction ?
I know there are ppl like Bill Gates , Dell , Larry Page-Sergey Brin) (google) etc who made it happen in their twenties ...so it difficult to do it as u age ?Should one work b4 doing something on their own ?

Or shud you risk right away with no financial backing and try to do something ?

Please share ur suggestions . Thanks

Only you can answer that. If you arent sure you arent ready.
simple as that. If you are still in questioning mode, its not time yet.
When you get to the point when you KNOW its right and good for you, then its time. When you pick apart pros and cons of issues like you are doing here, you are really asking yourself, anyway.
And only you, not friends, family, books, yahoo answers, etc.
can know if it is right or good.

Bill Gates Dell, Paige, et. al. just know it was time, and acted on it. They operated on the premise, do first, ask questions later, or hire someone to answer questions later.
Most people are not cut out at all for it for various reasons.
The ones that are don't resort to painfully splitting apart what if I do this or that scenarios. They are in perpetual DO mode.
If you can get into that DO mode zone, you are ready.
If you are still asking yourself or others questions, than it isn't
time yet, now or possibly ever.

Very few people can operate on DO mode period, which is why so few successful entrepreneurs exist.
All the best of luck to you....

I think age has nothing to do with it. My son had his own business at age 13.... and today, 7 years later, he has numerous businesses. Of course a 4 year old will not be running any business any time soon but you know what I mean !!!

It depends upon the person, if they have their head out of their butt. If they are driven and willing to work 20 ours a day to get your own business up and running. If they have the finances and resources to back them up.

The saying "At life's end you will only regret the things you didn't go for" meaning if you mess up, you will learn from it and move on. Taking a chance is how most of the great entrepreneurs started ! Good Luck ! : )

Do it now! The longer you wait, the longer it will take you to reach your goal.
