i am wanting to get my belly button pierced, but i was concerned about it bothering me if i sleep on my stomach.. also.. does anyone have any bad stories about their belly piercing?

It would just depend on what type of ring/bar you have in. You could buy a few different types and find what works for you. It might be bothersome just until it heals after that there isn't a problem.

I had my belly button pierced. It will be sensitive for a few weeks. Be careful about things you normally do...I made some mistakes that hurt like h*ll!!! Like when you get out the shower and you are drying with a towel, don't let the towel fabric get caught on your piercing, also wear low rise jeans, anything rubbing against your belly button while it's healing hurts, and don't let it anything rub or hit against your belly button, say a little cousin goes to give you a hug and they are just the right height of your waist, IT HURTS!!!

If you get your navel pierced and have a habit of sleeping that way, tape a piece of gauze over it to keep if from getting snagged on the sheets or anything else. Until initial pain goes away, you'll want to sleep on your side or try your best to do so. The downside of sleeping on your stomach is that the pressure can irritate the piercing more, but if you clean it correctly, it shouldn't ruin it. So prop more pillows under your head to keep you on your back. If it's too hard, this piercing might not be something you can handle.
As far as bad stories, I have none for you. I have 6 navel piercings.
However, as a piercer I have seen horribly done piercings on all parts of the body.
Just take care of your piercing, keep it clean, avoid high waist pants, skirts and belts. Try not to play with it too much and keep in mind it is a wound, so you'll want to be careful. Good luck to you

you should not sleep on your stmach until it is healed (1-4 months) but after that you will not notice anything. If you try to stomach sleep or wear anything constricting over the piercing you risk it not healing correctly, infection or pulling out the piercing, never mind the discomfort. Your piercer will go over all of this with you.

hey whats up? i own a tattoo shop and i do about 5 bellybutton piercings a day and i do not recommend keeping rubbing or pressure against it for it can cause major infections, get in the habit of sleeping on your back or side and if you do end up sleeping on your belly the piercing will be on your mind so much that you will more than likely wake yourself up!!!do worry so much about it you ll be fine and it will look great!!!

I have 5 tattoos... and I had 6 piercings... wanna know what hurt the most?? MY BELLY BUTTON. Nothing hurt more than that to get it done. I thought I was going to pass out and I felt like I was bleeding everywhere. It was horrible. But it looked really cute. I am 23 now and I took it out about 2 years ago because it looked too teenager-like in my opinion.

well it will fell the same just have confidence in your self it want hurt if your that concerned then buy a small pillow to put under you piercing

have to keep it really clean and its painful but god it look hot on a girl. so is nipple piercings

It will bother you if you are a stomach sleeper, but they lokk really pretty!
