This guy I hooked up with last week said he wasn't ready for a relationship because he just broke up with his girfriend. I mean we like each other, but is that an excuse? He talks to me when we walk to class, but barely. Could he be shy? I'm not pushing anything, I just want to know whether I should forget about him.

Can I be brutal? He may be interested in a relationship, but it might not be with you. Some guys have absolutely no qualms about sleeping with a girl, then writing her off. You should do the same, just write him off. If he's "not ready" now, he's probably not going to be anytime soon.

You said it yourself, you "hooked up" with the guy. To guys, thats all it is. Never "hook up" with someone that you want to be serious with. A relationship takes time to build, and hooking up is not the best foundation.

I guess at this point, he just wants a friend, and he was honest with you, saying he just broke up with someone, what is wrong with you being his friend? who knows where, your friendship could go. He would be a great companion to go to the movies and just have some fun with.

Maybe he isn't ready? Or maybe he isn't interested in you! Find someone else, guys always want what they can't have!!!! Maybe you are making yourself too available.
