If I am correct it was the tribes in africa that sold their people for profit. Slavery was kind of a blessing in disguise, ( theres no such thing as food stamps in Africa!) Don't get me wrong... the abuse, and treatment of black people in america back then is inexcusable. But I am tired of all these younger black kids blaming their problems on everyone else. Lots of black people have jobs. I have the utmost respect for people of any color trying to make an honest living without stealing the car I work so hard for, or selling drugs to my kids that I have made sacrifices for. Why aren't these kids doing something about it? I am a big fan of 2pac and I think he is very intelegent but look at him! predicting his own death instead of trying to stay around to help his people to make a difference. How sad that he could have done alot for the black youth. All these rap singers getting rich off of poverty that people are still suffering from, and instead of helping... they are contributing.

look at Opera, Collen Powell and Condoleeza Rice. To most black people I know, they are "sell outs" not role models to be admired for overcomeing. Opera has more money than ludachris but who do you think the average 15yr old is gonna listen too? I don't know what the question is, maybe just a jumbled example of my frustration for a race that allows themselves to be stereotyped and degraded and is told that it is okay to blame it on other people. There was a black girl in front of me in line at arco, must have been 14yrs old. after she paid for her drink, she left her trash(ice cream cup) on the counter and when she was told to take it with her she acted like she was a victim of racism becaus the lady behind the counter was white. She asked if she would have said that to a white girl? as she stormed out, My daughter would have been slapped so hard for disrespecting anyone like that! and I am talking about the trash! so I think she is looking up to rap stars not congresswomen or judges.

My answer will not be popular and neither will it be politically correct.
The unfortunate truth is that, even after four centuries of maltreatment, the message of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X have been misinterpreted and used as an excuse to remain enslaved.
Thousands of men and women, black and white, chicano and latino, Asian and pacific islanders have died for the cause of racial liberation.
There is, of course, a majority of African Americans who despise the current and sorry state of young black America. But instead of addressing the question, as does Bill Cosby, Leonard Pitts and others, they appear to be determined to allow bad behaviour, illicit activities and pitiful images of supposed self image to thrive in the name of 'blackness'.
This approach is madness.
I am a yellow dog, voting democrat and fought for the civil rights of all citizens of the United States of America. And I mean fought. I am liberal and focus my efforts on dealing with inequity, feeding the hungry and clothing the poor. I believe that God wants all of her children to be honored.
It is unforgiveable that some of the black community tolerates the ugliness of gangster rap, idolizes the 'get what you want' however you have to get it and that 'I deserve to kick someone's head in' because I have been mistreated.
Black America must wake up and take responsibility - and advantage of - 50 plus years of what has been built by men of good faith and honorable intentions.
It is no longer enough to claim mistreatment. It is time to start, in the black community, right treatment of the African American and step up to the plate of dignity.

Its not. Its not "okay " for any of us to be. Black, White, Brown, Red,Yellow, I don't care if people turn Purple if they are purple and are people they deserve respect.
Black women treat me horrible. I have found. Latina's haven't been nice either. Why? Couldn't tell you. I really don't know their side of the story.
Men on the other hand seem to be fair minded. They seem to always judge by what they see. Instead of a list they have already in hand.
Children well we know what there problem is now don't we. They need a good old fashioned walk out behind the woodshed.
Remember when a father would take Jr. out behind the woodshed. That was abuse ask 696kids. Thing is there were very few Billy the Kids. (he was white by the way)
In the end that is what the problem is. There is too little child abuse. If there were more child abuse people would learn how to act before they left home. Then there would be less racism. Manners would cover up some grave errors.

Who were the buyers? It was a blessing in disguise for who? Every coin has two sides. Of course there are no such thing as food stamps in Africa because African people are proud of their heritage and are very hard workers. Food stamps are a designer's signature of America, ask the Democrats; and white people are the main receipants of it. I have to agree with you on the lazy black man blaming others for past problems and molding his future by it. I have kids, they were offered drugs, but because of my hard work and dedication to train my children in the way that they should go, so that they wouldn't depart from it, they knew how to say no and kept on walking (discipline). 2pac might have been an intelligent young man, but he didn't have wisdom nor have the knowledge to use his intelligent wisely. Most people create poverty for themselves, as you mentioned earlier, by blaming the next man; and the school in America is designed to do just that. The lowest form of education is in America. If you were blessed to get an education outside of America, you would know the difference. Americans cannot compete with the outside world, because every form of discipline for a child is abuse. I am a victim of a white 13 year old boy breaking and entering my vehicle, stealing my checks and whatever he could have got his hands on. We caught him on cameras and the police told me they knew who the young man was, but nothing never came out of it. Why? Do the math yourself. I wasn't the only victim living on Ave. S that he did it to. Was he caught? Of course not. Why would they want to put a white child behind bars? You sound just like the complaint that you are making. Not a contributer eh?

First of all, it sounds like your racist. Secondly, I know alot of black people and none of them bring up the "slavery issue". There are people of all colors that steal and sell drugs. Of course, there are a lot of people of every color who are racists. As for Tupac, well he did try to make a difference. His earlier lyrics were directed at the police and people who mistreated him. Most of the rappers out there are finally making a stand for their mistreatment from the police and the govt. Yes, it does still go on today. There is still racism among our govt. and they need to let the world know. You must understand that they are not trying to get rich off of poverty... they are showing you they can overcome.

Racism is wrong no matter what colour hates whom.
I can understand peoples dislike of what has happened to them in the past...But hopefully people learn from these things and move on.

You're quite right. I know some African American women who are very racist; they don't smile, and when you look at them for longer than 2 seconds, they think it's because they are ugly. I'm NOT saying that all African American women are like that. I know some very good women and men of colour, and some of them happen to be close friends of mine, too. But, the fact remains that most of the African Americans are insecure about themselves; they always think that the others are trying to put them down.

Sweetheart I dont think your a racist..ive been asking similiar questions all my life.. I was at the pool swimming with my child one summer and my child ran to me sat comfortably between me and a black man and thought nothing of it.. when his child approached they looked at me like i was a creature from the black lagoon or should i say white lagoon..or i will offend for mentioning a mere color..then i spoke and said excuse me did u just notice my child sat comfortably with no hestitation and your child seemed to not like me?..yes i ask?..he looked and said ..it is the black womens fault so much racism..i sat quiet.. but im not going to blame anyone..but it is true ive done nothing but try to make friends with blacks especially women (blacks) my whole life.. in school and college.. they shunned me in college and try to pull my hair and hurt me..swore at me ..called me names.. when i got older ..i again tried to mingle ..and went to bars with blacks and whites ..again was taunted with racial slurs and just walked out of the place.. i learned after all this time has passed ..they(black women) will never like me in a million years..but there was a nice one in church...the black men have always been x-tra nice to me..or have been so well forward sexually ive had to leave places to.. i really dont get why?..these things are this way but thanks for the question i know exactly how u feel..i just dont even go out anymore it seems so many people have shitty attitudes and that goes for all races ..i do have to say i love blacks but they have just never accepted me..and my state is PA..my ancestors died for their freedoms so they shouldnt be treating me bad ..thanks for listening
