The first Batman comics I bought was the story arc that introduced Tim Drake, so for that personal reason, I have to go with Drake.

Well, it's gonna be a choice between Dick Grayson and Tim Drake, because most people are in agreement that Jason was a idiot who probably deserved the beat-down he got from the Joker. And Stephanie Brown wasn't Robin for long enough for anyone to develop a fair opinion of her (sure wish DC hadn't killed her off). I think Tim Drake is better than Dick Grayson, but only by a slim margin. I'll explain below:
Dick Grayson - the original and the most recognized. He's got skills in just about every area - acrobatics, martial arts, detective work, leadership. He's surpassed his mentor Batman in that he's developed honest, trusting relationships with many heroes in the DC universe, whereas most think Batman is a jerk. However, he doesn't have the edge or the darkness that Batman has. I don't see him growing beyond his identity as Nightwing.
Tim Drake - When he first appeared on the scene, everyone figured DC was trying to fix all the mistakes they made with Jason Todd and that Tim would be a second-rate Dick Grayson. But Tim has matured and grown over the years and has developed his own niche in the DC universe. He got his own series even before Dick Grayson/Nightwing. Also, he has a better costume (those short shorts are a HUGE minus point against Dick). Tim is already a top-notch detective, fighter and leader, but the awesome thing is that he still has more growing to do. Batman has stated that Tim is smarter than both Alfred and himself. Plus, the recent storyline in Teen Titans, "Titans Tommorrow" portrayed Tim not only as the successor to Bruce Wayne, but as a kick-*** Batman in his own right. (yeah, he was a "freakin bad guy", but it shows Tim's potential)
Basically, I think if you compare where Dick is now to where Tim is gonna be in 10 years, Tim is the better Robin.

All the Robins have been great. I can't really pick a favorite. You don't realize how groundbreaking it was for Batman to have a kid partner back in 1940. (If you get the chance, read some old reprints.) All the same, I'm glad that Dick grew up to be Nightwing, and I'm sad that the Joker killed Jason. I thought it was brilliant, the way Tim deduced who Batman is, and I'm glad that Stephanie was there to take up the challenge when needed. They are all part of a great tradition.

Dick Grayson
Dick Grayson has become an even bigger identity in the DCU than Batman himself. Dick Grayson's birthright as a gymnastic easily puts him as one of the better defensive fighters in the DCU. While he does not have the smarts or bare fist fight abilities of batman, he has become a leader, something that batman has not. He has become the leader and founding father of over 4 different reincarnations of the Teen Titans. He is often noted as the most influential sidekick/ward in the DCU where everyone often looks up to him.
During the Obsidian Age story arc of the JLA, batman chose Nightwing aka Dick Grayson as the new leader of the JLA. He proved his worth by not only saving Arthur Curry (Aquaman) and taking down the atlantean sorceress with teamwork with his team. He has also led other teams such as the Outsiders where he works as a undercover agent AND his own series.
Tim Drake will never be as good or influential as Dick Grayson. Drake has yet to assume the position of a leader on the battlefield. Drake's life of comfort and the fact that his father was alive while he was robin only shows that he has neither the back ground story or the ability as a crime fighter in the DCU to be influential. Grayson's abilities as a crime solver only puts him into the long list of detectives such as Elongated Man and etc.
The deciding factor between who is a better robin remains on the rogues gallery. The one consitant enemy of robin and the titans is Slade Wilson (deathstroke). Deathstroke has fought the JLA to a standstill by himself and yet, can not decisively beat Grayson , as demonstrated when Deathstroke dropped Chemo on Bludhaven.
