The "pope, and all infidels, should know that no Muslim, under any circumstances, can tolerate an insult to the Prophet (Muhammad). ... If the West does not change its stance regarding Islam, it will face severe consequences," it said.

DISGUSTING....that place should be wiped off the map.

Completely disgusting people.

Any muslims want to defend their gross ideology and devilish faith?

This is not a reference to all of Pakistan or all Pakistani people.

This is a reference for these sick majorities in the rural regions of that country.

Yes, not all are bad. But these 1000 clerics are BAD.

Pakistan will soon be a radical Islamic terrorist state (with nuclear weapons). The military and much of the population are religious fanatics. They have already tried to kill President Pervez Musharraf half a dozen times.

And, you can thank President Bush for selling them a bunch of F-16s last year. So, now in addition to having nuclear weapons they also have a delivery system. When the inevitable war with India (over Kashmir) erupts … well, at least we won’t have to worry about the Israeli-Palestinian issue anymore.

Pakistan provided funding and support for the Taliban, and likely continues to be the home of one Osama Bin-Laden.

But, they are our allies in the war on terror according to Bush-the-Idiot.

Oh yeah,

It was a Pakistani who gave all the nuclear secrets to Iran, Korea, etc.

But they are our friends, right?

while I support your general position - the truth is that Christianity and Islam are neck-and-neck in the rape-torture-kill business.

But then they should be. They are cousins from the same religious family. They are like identical twin brothers that hate each other and think they are nothing alike - but the fear, cowardice, and hatred they carry inside is exactly the same.

I'm not a muslim nor do I have anything to do with Pakistan, but it's mean to call people savages. I'm up on the news, aI didn't hear the Pope insult Muhammad, nor any infidels insult Muhammad. In fact, the word "indifel" these days is a misnomer. The Pope, in fact was trying to bring all religions together, his speeches are always about that. Muslims are waiting for their messiah, too bad they don't know he already came...or, maybe they realize he already came and they are waiting for the second coming, i.e. and are trying to end the world because they are stuck between their religious beliefs and their Quoran.. To admit they were wrong would be very embarassing for them as they are proud peoples.

Hi, the link you are quoting does not work for me at the moment. I do sincerely feel that (at the moment) the author of this statement does not speak for many (let alone all) Pakistanis or Muslims. Probably though many are upset, as they are taught to be, about attacks on their faith. It appears though that the author of this statement, as with a significant minority of Muslims, is trying to ferment trouble and in view of various terrorist outrages are succeeding. For the moment I think the answer is to pursue the extremists as to take more drastic action could not be justified on the basis of proportionality.

At the moment they are visting family in Pakistan,
They do pray, but i don't think they are full religion junkies.

I just want all the radicals put out of their own miserable lifes, I hate the radicals

~Gee, sounds very much like the Catholic Church speaking throughout the Dark and Middle Ages doesn't it? What, is the shoe a little too tight on the other foot? I admire the christian love and tolerance in your posting. May Goobleskeera forgive you and bless you and save your heathen soul.

Do you hold the wack jobs on the Christian and Jewish side to the same standard. I know of more Christians and Jewish people calling for the destruciton of the Muslims than of vice versa.
