Ben Gay, Aspercreme and other topical anti-aching medications appear to contain salicylates (aspirin-related, to reduce pain)and menthol (for a sensation of coolness). I believe that it is likely that other, non-drug related techniques would be as effective for pregnancy aches and pains (heat, cold, massage) and would not cause possibly significant blood levels of salicylates (probably not dangerous to mother or baby in small doses). Although I could find no evidence that these drugs are dangerous, I doubt that serious studies have been done in pregnant women. My bottom line, admittedly very conservative: use heat, cold, massage, and in extreme cases, physical therapy rather than topical drugs of uncertain safety and effectiveness.

It might have some form of aspirin in it which is extremely dangerous for a pregnant women. Be on the safe side and don't use it.

Check with your doctor first. I've often considered using aspercreme on my aches and pains but have never remembered to ask the doctor, so I never use it. Try an ice pack or standing in a warm shower until you can talk to the doctor.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/vOzXQ
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.

I couldn't find any reason 9 years ago when i was researching this same question as to why i shouldn't use it, so i did. Everything was fine. And my backache was temporarily aleviated, so i could actually sleep for a few hours.
