Apple steals money from its customers, so I would pick Microsoft Zune.

The Zune because it looks amazing. With the bigger LCD Display and with a whooping 14 hrs playback time for a 30GB; this is one awesome looking player. The device will be able to send media files (images, music, videos) from Zune-to-Zune.

Also appealing is the Microsoft vision about sharing and community across a broad spectrum of entertainment and digital media. The concept is similar to Xbox live, in the way that Xbox moved from being a standalone device to one that connects its owners to others in broad ways.

For example, the ZuneTags: When you buy a Zune device, you can join the community - giving yourself a screen name to identify yourself and your device in the community. You'll have a friends list similar to a Messenger. Can't wait for its launch.

i would say the Zune player because it has a bigger screen, you can share songs and things with your friends, the UI seems really slick, built in FM radio, and it's gives a more unique feel. Plus, i too am getting tired of hearing about ipods, and other apple products, which just seem more what's on the outside and not what's on the inside.

I would not pick either, personally. I had an iPod, which broke after 13 months (HD failure) and i wouldn't get a microsoft product to listen to music because it would be expensive and glitchy.

I would go for a iRiver. My gf has one and they are really good.
