Check with your town, municipality, whatever to make sure what you can and can't do. If you CAN bury him on your property then I would do that. Much cheaper. Look for a heavy equipment operator that can get access to a backhoe. Horses have to be buried 8 feet down here in Wisconsin. You COULD dig a hole that big but it would be HARD. But if it's your only resort.........
I had to put my 23 year old Morgan gelding to sleep last year (worst day of my life) and we buried him on my aunt's property. Actually he was the 7th horse to be buried there. We've owned the property since 1948. Then you can plant flowers.
If you can't bury him on your property then look up the closest riding stable to you and see if they know how to take care of it. Use your horsie resources.

Well we had a horse break his leg in three places from getting loose and running in to a parked car we had everyone in the neiborghhood dig a big hole, but if you cant do that i heard or pet food companys taking them. or contact the sherriff office and see if the people that remove carcases off the high ways will dispose of him. Also if you have a race track near you someone there might beable to help out

You all are horrible... talking about burning him. Call SPCA and see if they can help, or find a horse rescue group!!! They deal with this kind of stuff. OR just pay the d amn vet to come out and have him put down... How would you like to lay down on the ground hurt until someone decides how to get rid of your body after you die... Your a moron that doesn't deserve to own a horse if you don't know how to take care of things like this!!!

Best bet would be to bury him. I'd check around your local classifieds and find someone that has the equipment to dig the hole. Shouldn't be too expensive.

I do not know where you live.. but most all places in the U.S. have the CITY to be responsible for coming out with a truck to haul away a carcass...IF NOT.. there is NO other sanitary solution but to dig that hole

since burying him is not an option and to compost him stinks way to much i would burn him but if he is still alive and you do not mind doing it you can sale him for animal food most pet foods well buy him to put in dog food etc... but if you burn him their is no need to cut him up just put him in the middle of a Bonn fire and he will be cremated

Before you bury him, check the local laws. Some states have laws against burying dead animals. Contact the local humane society and see what they would recommend. If anybody would know the state and local laws, they ought to.
Good luck.
