You summed it pretty well, but I'll add one thing. I am constantly amazed at the wit and sarcasm I find on here. I like to consider myself pretty sharp in that regard, but I humbly bow to some on here. It always makes me laugh, and there are some real class acts here as well.

They are fun. They are a quick read, usually and they make my points add up more quickly as they usually only require a quick off the top of the head answer. Rock on Polls and Surveys!!

I don't know, I've been mostly going to Men's Health, Jokes & Riddles, Trivia and Wordplay & Yahoo Answers. I decided to give it a chance and I sort of love it. Yep, they are not too serious as they are on under catergories. I've had to state in my details that I'm not looking for serious answers; give me something to laugh about and they still tell me the scientific reason why there's no caboose on the end of the train.
I thought it was gonna be set up like our 360 page where you can set up polls in your daily blogs.
So far I'm loving it.
Also I see some of the types of questions can fall under jokes & riddles or trivia. cool
By the way how were you able to do your question in ALL CAPS? Once I tried it and it warned me not to do it.

Some of the funny questions and I like to read the answers too. Once in awhile, there might be a really serious question, and I answered one and the asker was so highly offended by my response, she emailed me a hateful response. Poor thing.

I would add to your assessment the fact that when someone does want some seriousness, they can usually get it.
If there is a single way I'd describe P&S and YA in general, it would be to say that there's room for everybody.
