You've got me. I lost a so called friend cause of this. She asked me a question & I told her the truth & she got mad. So, I ask her what did you want? Me to lie to ya & tell ya what you wanted to hear? If so then don't ask for my advice or to tell ya the truth. So, from now on if someone tells me they want the truth I just ask them, do you really want the truth or do you want me to tell you what you want to hear? Good Luck.

They don't like the idea of being lied to, but they don't really think about the fact that the truth might not be 'good news'.
I tend to vote for (painful or not) truth, than a lie though...people eventually learn not to ask, if they don't REALLY want to know...

because like Jack Nicholson said "YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!". People say they want the truth, but they really want you to tell them what they want to hear!! I tell people the truth, weather or no they want to hear it! If it makes me a *****, but too bad.

yes, thats one of my questions as well...i think people want the truth--however some just wont accept it or wont listen----people always say that they want the truth--but when it comes right down to it, they really prefer lies that they want to hear

some people don't think the truth is going to be as bad as it really is.....so they prepare themselves for something not as harsh as the truth

cause the truth is harsh, It'll blow you away...the hardest part is that you're not always right...which is hard for people's ego to get by...people have gotten used to being called right that they've forgotten what it's like to be wrong...
