shes 3, and the word is Hepid. She uses it like a swear word, should I discourage her from using it? I think its hilarious and have even started using it myself. Her dad who does not live with us, thinks she should be punished for using it as a swear word, I think its fine. What is your opinion?

i think thats funny too, and very cute. i dont see anythin wrong with it because hepid is much better than saying the f word. but i think if she learns other swear words then she may start using them too thinking that its okay to swear because shes allowed to say "hepid"

It just shows you how people of the past started to communicate with each other. the language we are using came from those that comes out of the mouth as mind thinks. I believe your daughter wants to say "stupid" and she pronounce it as it comes to her developing sense of hearing.

Yay for creativity. It's a made up word, so I can't see punishing her. Would you punish an older child for saying "Fudge" in place of "Fu ck?" Or "Door" in place of "Da mn?"
