When I was 7 I use to read books by Judy Blume. There is "Fudge", "Super Fudge" , "Otherwise known as Sheila the great" and "Blubber". I still have the books and pasted them down to my kids.

The Geronimo Stilton series is great. Full of fun illustrations and fun way of telling the story. Cam Jensen series is good too.
