Music of the white origin they call it CMA(Country music awards). They don't call it MOWO. If they wanted to I dont see anything wrong with it.
MOBO embraces the music black people made. and I think people have a right to embrace and know about the culture. After all black people made Rock, R&b, Blues, Rap, Jazz and more. And the shows do not only give black artists awards Eminem has won more than 5 MOBOs in the past, Tim Westwood has been winning MOBOs for 2 consecutive years, Gemma Foxx has won one, Teena Marie has been honored.
Racist... emm not. Asian people do have their own awards that embrace their culture. Classical music and Opera do have their awards. We dont see black people there.
and how do they descriminate. How many white people did you see in the audience. There were lots.

You know it's so funny I hear people saying "I'm not a racist but..." When you generalise a whole race for having an imaginary uproar about a MOWO award even when there isn't one is pretty ignorant and racist to me. As a black person I couldn't care less if there was a MOWO award show, there are more important things in the world to be complaining about.
Tell me how would you class music such as jazz, hip hop, rap, swing, soul and rhythm and blues?
The MOBO awards would be racist if it was an award show for just blacks but it isn't. Other ethnic groups have their own award shows too.
I think it's about time you grew up.

I'd say it is a bit racist. If there was a white music award ceremony, there would be an uproar. Don't get me wrong, i'm no racist but why can't we have a hip-hop award ceremony or a rock award ceremony. We can choose what type of music to play, we can't choose the colour of our skin. I vote for equality, nothing more, nothing less.

I can see how it could be seen as racist. But when they have awards including everyone, the Black artists sometimes get overlooked, so I guess they feel they need their own awards show, so they can get awards they feel they deserve.
I agree there would be outrage if they had a MOWO show. The name shouldn't include anything about race.

It is not racist as it is not awards for black people, it is for the music that originated from black people, so white people could win.
MOBO's show recognition of a different genre of music, which is often overlooked by other awards.

I see the point your making but i dont think its racist. i think cos most of the popular music award shows ignore loads of black talent they invented the mobos. Besides white people can still be nominated and win awards on the mobos. I think the other music awards are really "music of white origin" awards, they are just not honest in calling it so.

Yes. It segregates. Evryone would be screwing if there was a MOWO, and everyone would start classing that as racist and black people would endlessly argue that there talents are not being rewarded and recognised. just imagine the uproar of a mowo.
Black origin, most harmonious music is of black origin from africa to mississipi to motown.
Would eminem be eligible, if he wasn't recognised as his music is of black ORIGIN, then mobo is 100% racist coz eminem is the best rapper since biggie2pac

I totally agree. If they held that kind of ceremony there would be an uproar in a not too dissimilar vain to saying you can't sing baa baa black sheep anymore as that is racist!

We should be free and capable of celebrating our differences as well as our similarities without fear of being branded or pigeonholed.
This does not in anyway mean that one person is better than the next, or that one sex is better than the other sex or that one culture is better than another culture. They are just slightly different and as such we should be rejoicing in our fantastic multi-cultural society. Wouldn't it be a tediously, dull and dreary place if we were all the same?
