What do Scots REALLY wear under their kilts?

I've heard so many different answers to this. So tell me the truth - do they wear underwear (boxers or briefs??)...or do they just go commando and enjoy the cool breeze?

Traditionally they wear nothing but these days it's up to the individual.

I thought they were meant to go commando but now... personal choice
