Tell your parents to talk to your teacher and have them request that you be tested for possible special education needs. You can speak with the school psychologist. He or she will know about the referral process and how to get you set up for testing. It's free.

I don't think you necessarily have a learning disability. You may be tired, stressed or a combination of other things that are affecting your study habits. Try talking to one of the school counselors because they are trained to help you in areas like this. Of course make sure you are getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods because these are two of the main culprits in zapping strength and energy. Also, make sure you take good notes in class. If you get bored looking at the notes, try using colored pens or fun themed notebook paper to make it interesting. (I use Hello Kitty notebooks and pink or turquoise ink and I use flash cards). If you have trouble remembering what the teacher says in class, ask them if you can record the session. Forming study groups with other classmates may also help. Make sure your study spot is clean and quiet and the same each time. Hopefully, you'll be able to find new ways to concentrate and see results soon. Best wishes and be encouraged.

Your parents can request the school to test you for a learning disability, it is free, and if you do in fact have a learning disability, the school and your parents will come up with a individual education plan for you...called an IEP.
It is possible thought that you don't have a learning disability and just require another means of getting the information to sink in.
I can remember having to sing everything and make it into rhymes in order for me to remember stuff.
Talk to your parents about your school worries, you might ask your teachers to suggest different ways of studying to help you.
Good Luck.

Maybe it is just a little problem of your abilities to learn - I also have to study a lot and I don't have an exellent memory, but at school and university I've always been v. good. But if you think it is really alarming, ask someone at school - your teachers, for example, or a psychologist at school. You should do it as soon as possible cause people who have such problems need and have to be treated in a different way by teachers, they also have different rules according to the exams and other school requirements. Ask!!!!
