No, it is never okay to attend a wedding or reception or any other event for that matter without having been invited by the hosts regardless of how close an association the person you want to go with has to them. You could throw off a lot of carefully thought out planning.

No. It is not okay to crash anyone's wedding because they have to pay a large amount of money to feed each person.
