For goodness sakes girl! Read the Lord of The Rings Trilogy and the Hobbit. I would start with The Hobbit is a great introduction to the rest of the stories and a wonderful read.

I GUARANTY you will be hooked or you can e-mail me and call me names :-)

HAVE FUN. I could not get enough of these books when I was 13-14…

If you're looking for an upgrade to more mature fiction, you can read anything by Anne Rice, or Gregory Mcguire. If you like funny, but also a bid sad, try You Don't Know Me by David Klass. The Witch's Boy was good, as well as The Lord of The Rings (If someone tells you to read the Hobbit, read the Lord of the Rings trilogy first, the Hobbit was terrible (though I was in third grade at the time I read it, then again, I tried to reread it in 8th and still hated it). The Hobbit put me off Tolkien because I read it first, and it wasn't as good as the Trilogy.) Lastly, though it's not quite fantasy, Angels and Demons by Dan Brown was really good too.

His Dark Materials Trilogy (The Golden Compass; The Subtle Knife; The Amber Spyglass) By Philip Pullman

This trilogy is awesome! Fantasy with a little science fiction thrown in. The story is about a boy and girl (from different dimensions) that find a slit into another.

I love the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings!

CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia are amazing as well.

Have you read Madeleine L'Engle's time books? (A Wrinkle in Time, Wind in the Door, Many Waters, Swiftly Tilting Planet) These are some of my favorites!

If you get a little more ambitious, check out Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. There are 12 books in this one, so it will take you a while! The books are great, though.

Have fun!! :-)

Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. They're really, really good. My favourites at the moment are Thud, Night Watch, Going Postal, Pyramids and Small Gods. But pick up any one I'll guarantee you'll like it!
Also read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials. There are so many good books out there at the moment, go along to your library and browse through till you find something that catches your eye!

Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is hilarious. It is a series that doesn't necessarily have to be read in order so Soul Music, Reaper Man and Moving Pictures are great ones to start with. Mercedes Lackey is also a great author, I'd recommend her to anyone.

If you like R.L. Stine, have you tried the Christopher Pike books? He writes the same type of scary teen books. I read him before R.L. Stine became popular (so the books may be a little dated, but still pretty good).
