Spongebob Squarepants theme song, that thing is like nails down a chalkboard! Before that it would be the theme song to Barney...it is enough to make me start crying or want to kill myself.Theres other songs, but these two are sheer torture.Lately for the past 3 days I've had the theme song to Spiderman in my head and it won't leave,I hate that movie and it just intensifies it.Never fails the more you try to erase it the more persistant it gets. Then one day out of the blue it stops, generally only to be replaced.By another annoying song.sometimes you just gotta laugh, wish there was a cure for it.

I'm an English teacher, and every year I show those old cartoons from Saturday morning to help teach grammar... it takes me DAYS to get Conjunction Junction out of my head. And now that I'm thinking about it, it's in there now, ugh...

These songs are called "earworms" for a bit of trivia.
Here is what wikipedia says about them:
*****************************************************************
Earworm, a loan translation of the German Ohrwurm, is a term for a song stuck in one's head, particularly an annoying one. Use of the English translation was popularised by James Kellaris, a professor of marketing at the University of Cincinnati. His studies appeared to demonstrate that different people have varying susceptibilities to earworms, but that almost everybody has been afflicted with one at some time or another.

Some sufferers from earworm prefer the term "repetunitis", "stuck tune syndrome", "sound virus" or, if sufficiently acute, "melodymania."

I'm embarrassed to say, I had that stupid, stupid Snickers ad song stuck in my head the other day. Any time I get a commercial jingle stuck in my head, I feel so cheap.

They used to play Britney Spear's music all the damn time and it would always get stuck in my head. It seemed like the more I tried not to hear it, the more it would pop into my head - FRUSTRATION!!!!

I've got this recurring twister in my head when I hear the Stereophonics singing the lyrics
"If you tolerate this then your children will be next."
Only thing is I hear it in my head as:
"If you tolerate this then your children will wear v-necks."
I heard the song again today and it's doin ma heid right in.
"Ain't gonna bump with no big fat woman" is another fave.
