At least it's better than companies lying to the public about their financial status. I don't think the market has plunged so much as stabilized. I still don't understand why the fed rates don't seem to be affecting loan interest rates. Very strange.
If you look at stock I have owned for 20+ years, you will see that the trend hasn't changed much between when it was purchased, to when clinton was in power, to now under bush. The stock value has steadily increased over the last 20 years.
