Depends on the relationship to the parents.

Ideas:
Clothing (always a hit because babies grow so fast.)
Blankets (espicially if you have the baby's name put on it.)
Personalized baby pillow
Baby's name in a wall hanging or table decor, like the name meaning, a special poem or saying, etc...
Silver picture frame for a Christening picture
Silver baby things (brush, comb, rattle, cup, certificate holder for either Birth or Christening, etc...)

You should consider how close you are to the parents, and set a spending limit. If you don't want to spend $50, then you shouldn't. Then look at gifts in your price range, and see what you think the parents will like best. Family member and the Godparents will usually take care of the traditional gifts, like the silver brush and comb set, so you may not want to duplicate, but things like clothing and blankets are always welcome with a new baby. It won't matter how many they get, they can always use it.

I in simple terms had my daughter baptized/christened to boot. often you supply money. in user-friendly terms because of the fact it is not a birthday, it is not a infant bathe, that's a christening. Kinda like a marriage reception because of the fact the relatives often orders meals and stuff. So money will go the two in direction of the fee of the meals or to three variety of savings accoutn for the child. we are commencing her first savings account! that's what we are doing with the $255 (canadian money) we are doing with it! wish this enables!
