Pushing is the procedure of pushing the ends of two halves of a deck against each other in such a way that they naturally intertwine. Sometimes the deck is split into equal halves of 26 cards which are then pushed together in a certain way so as to make them perfectly interweave. This is known as a Faro Shuffle and is quite difficult to master. Eight perfect Faro shuffles in succession will bring the deck back to its original order.

Since shuffling a deck of cards is a totally random event, you could probably shuffle an infinite number of times before getting back to what you had. I do know that research has shown you only need to shuffle a deck 7 times for it to be sufficiently mixed.

Assuming it is a perfect shuffle, where the cards overlap alternately with the same card on the top always, it will take 8 shuffles. For more on this and the mathematics behind it, look up "perfect shuffle" in your search engine.

I once saw an article in "Believe It or Not".
A man was confined to a mental hospital in Germany and had lots of time on his hands.
It was estimated that he had tried this millions of times over many years before he actually dealt out a deck in perfect order.

Not impossible, magicians or should i say illusionists do it all the time. But then again is that considered shuffling or stacking the cards.

It could be once, or you might never do it. Statistically, it would be 1 in (52!) times, whatever that number is.
