Somehow I got on AOL and thought I was upgrading my AIM instant messenger. Somehow I deleted the AIM Instant Messenger. Now I can't get my AIM messenger back. I tried removing AOL and the computer tells me I do not have any versions of AOL installed. But I cannot get my AIM messenger back except thru AOL and I understand that they will bill me eventually for their services. I have tried downloading the AIM messenger but it always asks for a screen name and password. I do not remember the original screen name and password and to get AOL to give you the password it looks like I would have to go to AOL as my internet provider. I have a Dell computer--Windows XP. I am 79 years old and really do not understand what is going on as I only use the computer for playing Literati and emails. Please won't someone help me? If you have an email address for AOL, please send it so that I can notify them that I do not want their internet service. Thanks so much. hcooper547@hotmail.com

we don't think you got AOL. you can go too restore your computer too an earlier time or or when you download aim ,which will work with any Internet browser .you will have too recreate a new account and user name ,password etc .then just let your friends know your new aim log on name .as for AOL just go too there web page and look for contact us and you will be able too send them an e-mail or they will also have a toll free number you can call good luck chaz n billy

You can download it as a stand alone program just like Freeman said above.
