regardless of your religious beliefs it's hard to not notice that all the life around you is trying to procreate, and stay alive as long as it can. I suppose it's pretty easy to say those are the two fundamental natural drives.
If you buy into the big bang and the expanding universe, that could only add more fuel to to the fire of existing and expanding.

just a thought, I could be wrong.

You know, not everything has a premeditated motivation. Have you ever considered that you're anthropomorphizing what you understand to be reality?

Well, my favorite theory is that we are here to feed the earth. We are born, we die, they bury us, we supply carbon, and life goes on. Is that too simplistic?
