Yes - In a case like this, I'd tell him the truth.

Nah, don't tell him. He already knows but he is having fun. Just enjoy the good times with him. Be
his friend and ignore everyone else. When you both
reach rocking chair age you'll have something to
look back on and have a great laugh. You might want to help him not drink so much. He'll be grateful in the long run.

For God's sake, let him sing! And I'm sure the people talking about him behind his back are all great singers (interject some sarcasm here)!!! My friends and I sing karaoke, and none of us can carry a tune! And seriously, there wouldn't even be karaoke without alcohol!

Hmm.. that's strange. I can only sing drunk... or maybe I just don't care? And if he's drunk off his @$$, that gives everyone a reason to laugh at him anyway.... let the man sing!! Some people need to be drunk to lose thier inhibitions, and when they laugh at him, he can use the excuse "hey, I was drunk!" the next day... no big thing.

If he knows he has a bad voice then why stop him. I have a terrible voice but the only time I work up the nerve to sing in front of others is at a bar. As long as he knows it is OK.

Leave it alone, i know when i get drunk i think i can sing l like mariah, of course i know i cant. Him getting drunk probably gives him the motivation to get up there and have fun. Dont ruin it for him.

Tell him what is happening. If he is like me he'll sing anyway. Before I would sing I'd tell everyone what people are saying about my singing. He who laughs last, laughs best!

This is what you should do. Next time you go, videotape it for him, and then give it to him. Once he watches it he will realized it own his own and you don't have to be viewed as the mean person that told him.
