We should get rid of the Age of Consent, and make it like the cigarette laws, not till you're 18. Unless there is a small age separation, any person who has sex with someone who is under 18 years of age should face jail time. When I say small age separation, I mean a 19 year old and a 17 year old. Back to your question, every state has it's own age of consent, some red states have 14 as the age of consent, so you accusing only democrats of trying to lower the age is a fasade. I know how you are and will only pick or read questions that fit your Democrat hating agenda. Have a good one.

The consent to do what? It can't be that bad! Young children are doing it all anyway! Some children that age are smoking, drinking, having babies, doing drugs, joining gangs. But on the flip side of things there are those positive children who are into sports, they have hobbies, taking all types of classes such as dance, music, theater etc. I have to get on another portion of the Internet such as the news to find out what this is all about. Because to be honest with you, I stopped watching the news on TV for years that stuff was depressing the hell out me. If I don't pick an article from the Internet to read, I'm out of touch. All I want to know is the time and the weather LOL. I've just gotten to the point where any issue whether it be important or not I'm tired of hearing about depressing issues. But sweetie whatever this is about, you just make sure you take the high road. Stay positive and do good things with your life, so you don't wind up like me, not giving a sh/t!

They don't as far as I know. Googling "democrat lower age of consent" turns up nothing in the US. Got a link to some evidence that Democrats want to do this? Also, I believe age of consent laws are up to the individual states. Which state is considering lowering the age of consent?
And the statement another person made about Ginsburg wanting to lower it to 12 isn't true.

Actually, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsberg wants to lower it to 12. Why do you THINK they want to? Just look at the Kennedys and the Clintons. They also want to legalize "guy" marriage. DUH, gee, they are sooo moral. To those who want a source, the congressional record of her appointment.
