the fright caused her to suffer severe palpatations leading to a minor stroke which disabled the use of the arm holding the curds and whey. this fell from her grip and broke her big left toe. still fearful of the spider coming after her she hobbled away looking back to see if the spider was in pursuit.
not looking where she was going she head butted a bees nest which was low slung on a tree.
the angry bees gave chase after miss muffet so she jumped into a lake to ward off the bees.
the sudden splash disturbed a bunch of snoozing aligators who began snapping at her hide.
she dragged herself up the muddy bank and hauled herself up onto some rocks.
the vibrations through the rock disturbed a nest of rattle snakes who began slithering towards her.
just as she thought her goose was cooked a large pterydactyl swooped from the sky and plucked her from the rocks but because she was covered in slimey mud he lost his grip and he dropped her onto the mossy mound where a short time ago she had been about to enjoy her snack of curds and whey.
she lay still and exhausted, eyes closed,for several seconds.
she felt something gently brushing and tickling her face and opened her eyes to find the spider sitting on the end of her nose with a big smile on his face.

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet
Her clothes were all tattered and torn.
But it wasn't the spider that sat down beside her,
It was Little Boy Blue with his horn!!

After she was scared off by the spider she disappeared but there is a story circulating that she was seen inTesco with a guy in a white rhinestone outfit and a guitar. Urban myth ?

Very sad story.
She was scolded by her mother for not returning the bowl that had her curds and whey in.
She went back to her tuffet later on that day and the spider was waiting for her.
Needless to say she got bitten and died from blood poisoning two days later in intensive care.
Sad.

She was frightened away. I don't believe her family heard from her again. Some say her picture was on a milk carton and that she was seen in Brazil, but that was never confirmed.
