First thing he should do is get a complete checkup by a urologist to make sure his equipment is working alright. There are so many options for men that ED should not be a problem any more. I personally use injections (Caverject or Edex) that produce an erection for 2 - 4 hours. I'm sure that would be long enough to satisfy both of your needs.

There can be many causes for soft or weak erections, or problems maintaining an erection. These causes include age (usually after 30), vascular problems, penis injury, such as damage to veins and arteries inside the penis, a hormonal imbalance, excessive stress and anxiety, diabetes, chronic smoking/drinking, drugs, over-masturbation and sexual exhaustion, or surgery. If left untreated, weak erections can lead to permanent sexual dysfunction!

They best thing for him to do is get a check up for any of those issues above, and look at the lifestyle he living to make some changes.

Don't rely on drug's if you can help it, as you will start to need them every-time. As a guy gets older he doesn't get as hard as he would when he was a little younger. Having said that you can get into better sexual position's and his penis will be able to reach 'the spot' that a young guy couldn't. You could also try getting a cock ring which is like a sex aid ( loads of people use them and you can get them in most sex shops ) which goes around the base of his penis and will keep him rock hard for as long as he wants. He is obviously feeling un manly so you need to reassure him and understand him. Good luck.

He needs a doctor appointment to determine the cause of his problem. If he gets erections in his sleep the difficulty is probably psychological.
In either case the ED drugs would probably work for him.
If he smokes he should stop

Skip the answer from Aunty.

I use cialis and I don't even need it. It gives me an awesome erection for hours. And I do JUST FINE without the pills, even though I use them

There have been no effects on my performance without the pills since I started using them.

Get the pills, he will feel so much better about himself.

my best suggestion is for the two of you to split a viagra (not that he necessarily needs it) because a 1/2 a viagra will have the same effect on you both make it amazing and he'll feel like your doing it together, not prescribing him a pill or saying he has a problem.
