This history, though somewhat complex may help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophy_of_education

This is an example that you can read: http://www.tcnj.edu/~malloy2/education_philosophy.htm

http://www.msu.edu/~robinsda/philos.htm

http://www.calumet.purdue.edu/facultysenate/curriculum/General_Education/gen_ed_phil_stat.html

Hope that these help. I am a Spanish teacher and part of my philosophy is to increase communication and understanding among diverse cultures. That is logical given my subject. Think about what you want to accomplish in a classroom. What do you want your kids to be able to do when they leave you?

It's what your philosophy of what education should look like in your classroom. Think of what you want your kids to learn, and how you're going to implement that. It can include rules on behavior, classroom management style, and what you'll do to make sure kids are being educated in your class.

You pretty much have free reign.
