Be real, different from the rest / interesting, honest, dependable, having moral character, trustworthy, intelligent, open minded, and a good listener. These are traits that are hard to find, but valued in the highest degree. When you show people that you have these traits...they not only will listen to what you have to say, but will believe in you and pass the word along.

There are many good books...and seminars...on just this topic. The key is in respecting those around you at all times; it also is critical that you have a good deal of self-esteem.
