The bill is a pure political ploy -- the idea that illegals are voting is a myth -- they are too worried about getting caught to risk such a thing. It's another way to play to the base.
The real issue in voting are the problems with electronic voting machines which the republicans has consistantly refused to deal with, as well as other republican methods of voter surpression.

Just another step closer to a national ID card. The Antichrist will love this kind of stuff.

What's wrong with proving who you are? What's to stop people from voting multiple times, or illegal immigrants from voting, or Osama Bin Laden flying in to your district to vote? What's wrong with wanting to prevent fraud?
Being in favor of fair elections is unAmerican? Exactly what color is the sky in your universe?

Yeah, wouldn't want to prove you are a registered to vote, legal citizen of the US. Terrible idea.
