T.V. a once decent form of art and entertainment has mostly become trash in general. I agree the kids T.V. is not nearly as creative and good hearted as it use to be, but I swear it's pretty much across the board as far as T.V. goes. Everything is motivated by money and that is the problem with these companies forcing us to watch junk. Large groups of companies work together these days to try and shape minds into becoming competitive and impulsive people that are very profitable to them in the long run. Greed is making this a very sick world more and more so for years now.

I don't know, yes it;'s changed a lot, I just flicked past cBeebies and there was a woman explaining that spiders can't climb out the bath- shouldn't the kids be off exploring this. There are a lot of educational programmes, but I think they are more on the satelite channels. I think older children's drama can be really interesting, clever and educational as well, I enjoy watching some of them. And then Blue Peter hasn't changed has it!

Yes, but think about the old cartoons.
Bugs Bunny and Road Runner. How many times did Coyote fall off a cliff or drop an anvil on his head. Or Marvin the Martian and his 'Ray' gun
What about Tom and Jerry. Those two were always beating each other up.
Now, it is just a different type of violence.

Yeah children's t.v. programming has changed. My son is 2 and watches The Wiggles (ugh...), the Little Einsteins (not too bad, teaches music, art appreciation), Winnie the Pooh (personal fave), Curious George, Handy Manny (not too bad), Dragon Tales, etc...so not much violence there...He also loves game shows...(it has to be the numbers, letters, lights, excitement.)

He also watches GIJoe (the original with me) which was violent..but nobody died or got horribly hurt.

All in all he does watch some violent tv...but its comedic usually or on tv shows that mommy and daddy watch..and when he gets old enough we'll explain that violence is not a good thing typically.

t.v. still has those really lame-o shows that are all innocent and dumb, but u're only talking about the ones that have action and drama in it. its not really violence, kids don't see it that way. as long as a parent u teach them what's right they wont get sucked into the violent behaviors. a show wont be successful without all that stuff, so they don't really care what its doing to children's minds, they're just in it for the money.

childrens programmes now seem to encourage children to answer back and have no respect for elders ie grange hill tracy beaker and as for that little smart a**e on the stringy cheese advert - no wonder children are out of control - the man was a headmaster for gods sake!!! has the world gone mad!!!
