meaningless question, as it depends on how well you take care of the car, how you drive it, when you service it etc..

Too many variables to give you a solid answer. You need to narrow down to which engine, what model with what kind of transmission.
My 89 325is has 170k miles and still running strong, but the E30s are near bullet proof, unless they have a auto tranny. Generally, BMWs with auto trans do not last as long as manuals. But older BMWs will easily go 200k before major repairs are needed, provided that regular maint. is kept up.

It depends on how well you treat the car. There's probably some that have gone 300-500,000, but if you drive it hard, it might not make it past 160,000. It also depends on what year the car was made, because the technology gets better every year.

my first car was a 1980 320is and drove till 360,000 with no drivetrain problems and original clutch. rust finally got to the shock towers.
1991 325ix my current car has 202,000 miles. runs, drives and looks like new. i'm on the 6th year with this car and feel i'll have no problem reaching the 300k mark.

I had two so far....
One 1987 325es sold in 1998 with 180K miles... no problems.
and a 1991 525i sold in 2002 with 160K miles, again no probs.
What I have heard that BMWs can easily hit 250K miles.
