Hmm... with U.S. housing market continues to slump, since one can not "sell short" on houses. You can not gain profits by "flipping" now.

If you still want to help out the market, please buy from individuals rather than home builders. They need your cash to bail them out.

Good luck!

Southern Maine is an excellent place to flip houses. I flipped one there a couple of years ago and it worked out very well. I am from Massachusetts where it is not so easy to flip houses now.

I don't know about the market in South Maine, check your local listing, newspapers, blogs, to find out what is happening in the market, if prices are going up or down.

My father is a contractor and does a lot of different jobs for contractors in North Texas and he has told me that the ONLY way to make money is to buy the house EXTREMELY CHEAP, if not, it is not worth all the money you throw in it.

I don't care where you live. Now is not the time to start flipping houses. The housing market bubble is leaking, if not getting ready to burst. Look at the Government listings of unsold homes and how they have been reducing their optomism at: http://www.census.gov/const/newressales.pdf .

Depends on distance from coast, height above sea level, economic conditions of area....

What kind of equipment do you use to flip a house? Does it destroy it?
