OMG, that is awful. I am sorry if this has happened to you. I really dont get it, are you suppose to walk around with a video camera so you can get on video anything that happens !!! Stupid. The police ought to help you and give you advice on how you can get evidence. If all else fails, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.. get a gang together and threaten them.. sorry, not good advice, but... good luck

Point out to them that your statement is evidence and that a crime has been reported and they are bound to investigate. Ask to see a more senior officer if you have to.
It probably won't end in a prosecution, but the police have a duty to investigate reported crime - too often in cases like this they don't want the hassle and paperwork if it won't result in conviction. You, however, need the incident on record in case it happens again.

File a police report so at least there's a record in case anything else happens. If you're threatened and do nothing about it, you're not taking it seriously.

take out a life insurance policy for yourself, and have the bill sent to the police dept.

About all you can do legally is report it. Report it every time it happens. And if there are ever witnesses to it, have them go and get their testimony on record.
