Ok, been there. Spring Break 1999, and it was a blast.

They film 2 episodes a day, don't bother writting for tickets, it's just a show up and wait kind of thing.

The contestants are picked by the producer of the show. They parade all of the audience members in front of him, about 12-15 at a time. "State your name, where you're from, and why you're here." From that, they choose who gets called down.

I didn't win anything, but my friend got called down, she was the second person called. Blonde, 44 D's with a personality to match. Go figure, eh? Anyway, she won a pickup truck, and made it to the showcase showdown where she lost by a margin of a few hundred bucks.

If your episode doesn't air, you don't win the prize. You can't claim the prize until after it airs, so she had to wait like a month. Then she was able to go down to a local dealership where she picked up her truck. She put the state taxes and licensing on a credit card and sold the truck two weeks later. She just had to claim the winnings on her taxes that year, and I believe TPIR sent her a form for that.

It was truely among the most exiciting minutes of my life. It was SOOOOOO much fun. We stayed at hotel about 3 blocks from the studio in a hotel above a diner called Swingers (where we met James Woods!) Sooo much fun..... ;-)

Do you know how long I tried to get tickets to that D**N show? If you want to get tickets, you'd better start now.
