Why is this in the music section?
Tell the kid that not all fathers are ready to be Daddies. More than likely half of her class or more wont live with their father's either.
If she hasnt even given birth yet then you cant tell what the father will do later on anyway. He may be in the childs life by then.
Also, sue his ***. He shouldnt get away so easily without supporting the kid.

I'm a single mother, situation is very similar. My child is 6.
I have told my child this: Your biological father has his own problems and issues to deal, he doesn't know any better. I tell the child how much I love them, and also mention how much everybody else loves them.
I have made sure that my child has a close relationship with my father. My child is very stable. I have no ideal what will come of this in the future. I just take each question one at a time.
Tell you sister that it is the child's right to have a legal father. Even if the father does not see the child, the father is legally obligated to pay child support! And at least, your child will know that the father supported them financially.

I wouldn't worry for the 1st 3 - 4 years of the baby's life.
Hopefully your sister will have a wonderful man in her life who will accept her child as his own. And he can be a wonderful father to the baby. Of course, you'll have to tell the child that the man he calls his daddy is not the birth father. And explain the details later.
P.S. Have your sister sue the birth father for Child Support! He should have told your sister hes married! Don't let him get away with it!

Just because the man left when she was pregnant doesn't mean that later on, he won't have anything to do with the child. He is legally bound to support the child financially, atleast. As hard as it is raising a child alone emotionally, financially it is just as hard. She definately needs to get child support from this guy, and maybe he will soften up and WANT to be involved with the child after he finds out he's a father.

In all honesty... tell the kid the truth. My mom was truthful with me about my dad and it hasn't affected me at all. Its better to be truthful with your kids than to have them find out in the long run and look back and think oh my parents lied to me i will never trust what they say again.
p.s. yes im a bastard and im proud of it, you cant chose your parents you have no control over what happens. all you can do is live your life.

from the beginning tell the child that the father went away becasue he wasn't ready to be a father yet... and when they get older tell them where the father went....and don't stop telling them how much the child was wanted by mom and that mom loves them....also sue for child support... his "wife" may not know he has another child and his kids may not know they have another sibling...
Such sweet revenge it is too :)

wrong section..... are these lyrics of a sad song?
My advise, give the child love, love, love. Be honest with him when he grows, there is no need to cover the truth.

Be honest. The child will grow to hate everyone and won't trust anyone if you lie to them.
