scratch the floor? i have a cast iron screen from pottery barn

do they have special ones that dont scratch hearths or should i just try and find rubber feet or some type of rubber bottom for this one?

what do you think?

i bought the pottery barn screen before the fireplace was renovated when there used to be a brick hearth before it was replaced with granite

i mean a screen that wont scratch the granite hearth

Take black rubber tubing and cut a slit in it lengthwise. Then, attach the tubing on the bottom edge of the screen. Did the same to protect my marble hearth at my cabin vacation home and you can't even see the tubing unless you are right up on it!

You'll need to find the right diameter tubing to fit snuggly on the screen. You want it snug, but easy enough to pop on and remove.

Instead of rubber that might show around the bottom of the screen, I'd glue some strips of rubber, cork or fabric to the bottom. That way you only see th screen, not the protecive cushion underneath.

Glue felt to the bottom of the screen, it wont show and you wont have a problem anymore.
