There's a song that I think (am not too sure) is called They Called The Wind Mariah. I heard it on a t.v. show, when they were doing Karaoke. I am not sure who sings it, but I was wondering, firstly, does anyone know the song to which i'm referring? Secondly, if you know the song, do you know if it is from a play or something like that? It seems like one of those "Broadway type" songs, so that's why I was asking.

You're really stretching my brain here, I think its from the movie from the 1960's called "Paint your Wagon". Clint Eastwood was in it, its a musical about the westward movement. Yes, Clint actually sang!

This song is from a 1951 Broadway musical show called Paint Your Wagon by Frederick Loewe and Alan J Lerner. The Kingston Trio does the music.

Yes, Paint Your Wagon is the musical with Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood that the song They Call the Wind Mariah comes from. Here's a web site with the lyrics. I played guitar in the 60's and that was one of my favorites. http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/paintyourwagon/theycallthewindmaria.htm

It is from "Paint Your Wagon." It was on broadway in the 1950s, then put on film in 1969. Clint Eastwood did do his own singing.
My favorite song from the musical is "Wandering Star." The bass is just so much fun to listen to!

Kingston Trio
"They Call the Wind Mariah"
Away out here they have a name for rain and wind and fire.
The rain is Tess, the fire's Joe and they call the wind Mariah.
Mariah blows the stars around and sets the clouds a-flyin'.
Mariah makes the mountains sound like folks was out there dyin'.
Mariah. (Mariah).
Mariah. (Mariah).
They call the wind Mariah.
Before I knew Mariah's name and heard her wail and whinin',
I had a gal and she had me and the sun was always shinin'.
But then one day I left my gal.
I left her far behind me
and now I'm lost, so gol' darn lost
not even God can find me.
Mariah. (Mariah).
Mariah. (Mariah).
They call the wind Mariah.
Out here they have a name for rain and wind and fire only.
When you're lost and all alone, there ain't no name for lonely.
And I'm a lost and lonely man without a star to guide me.
Mariah blow my love to me. I need my gal beside me.
Mariah. (Mariah.)
They call the wind Mariah.
Mariah!
Mariah. (Mariah.)
They call the wind Mariah.

no longer thoroughly. The stuff you're made up of would not enable easy to bypass by. there have been experiments with "invisible suits" made up of LCDs. The journey takes on the colorations of what's in the back of you, even though it purely works in a single course.
