What's the longest movie you've ever seen?
The longest movie I have ever seen is The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and that's only if you watch all 3 of them back to back in one day. I really love that movie and I especially liked Orlando Bloom as Legolas!! He made such a good elf. Anyway, the next 2 longest movies that I've seen are Titanic and Pear Harbor.
Was it worth the time?
Yes, all of these movies were well worth the time. They are some of my favorite movies. I'd watch them all again and again.

I went to a film festival once and saw 'As I was Moving Ahead I saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty' which was 320 min long. (5 hours) No plot, no story, no tension, no conflict, no irony, no dialog, often out of focus, jittery and nearly 5 hours long. All this and it is one of the greatest documentaries I have ever seen. A stunningly positive and beautiful film that is just about the happiness and joy of family, New York City, country getaways and filming. This is such a compelling work, it did not even seem that long. This is the work of a man at peace with his own happiness. We should all be so lucky.

technically the lord of the rings trilogy, watched it while I was sick, over a couple of days, so for me it was worth it cause I love that movie and I had nothing else to do and was cool cause I didn't have to get up to change the disc too often!
For me Gone with the Wind seemed longer than LOTR, I guess I couldn't really grasp the southern accent, so I had trouble understanding what some of the characters were saying, and it seemed to go on way too long! History of Violence was the same, I think the acting was so bad in it, that I thought about walking out with the other half of the theater, but my friends didn't want to, so I sat through it...

The longest and most boring movie I believe I have ever seen is "Reds" with Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton. At over three hours, it made something exciting like revolution have all the dynamic of watching mold grow.
The longest and best movies I have seen are classics like "Dr. Zhivago" and "Lawrence of Arabia." If you haven't seen them, set aside some quality time and do so. They are the essence of epic and do be sure to get the "Widescreen", letterbox format. "Fullscreen" format loses too much of the imagery.

Alexander.
It's not that great. I would have given anything for a power failure in the cinema watching it. At least at home I could have switched the TV off. In the cinema I would have had to wake several people up to get out and I couldn't be bother to do that so watched it until the end. Well...I think I was there unil the end, I'm sure I really did fall asleep at some point.

I like Cowboys, so the longest film I recall watching was Wyatt Earp, around 3 hours or so, I had to watch it in two parts.
Was it worth it, no I don't think it was. New style cowboys are not the same.
