Well you can look at it 2 ways. The first is a situation where you are having the time of your life, doing something you really enjoy and say"it doesn't get any better than this". that's a positive use of that statement. Then there is the negative version where someone is going through tough times and they basically decide that life "doesn't get better than this" and yes that is sad to me. Life has many ups and downs but the bad times don't last forever even though sometimes it feels like they will. We should always remember that there will be better days and life is definitely worth living. It's the tough times that make the good times so special.

Well if that was a good time, at least you'll know that at least, there will be another time at that level again.

I guess the answer to your question is "no." Why? Because the best of anything can always be done again. For example, you can always have that best cup of coffee again. Sure it won't get better than that, but it is still the very best. In fact it also "won't get better than THAT" just like the previous time it didn't get better than that....

"Nothing ever stays the same forever"...an old saying but a very true one in every aspect of life. Sometimes things get better, sometimes they get worse...but in the long run whether they get better or worse depends on us and how our actions affect the situation and how we preceive of the situation. Is the glass in your life always half full or half empty.

If we sit and wait for something we want to happen or to change we may be very disappointed. If we do what we can to make things happen, make them better, or to change the situation it will almost always get better. For example...you want a car but you need money to buy a car. What actions could you take to get the car you want. You could sit and watch TV while you're waiting for someone to die and leave you money, or you could buy some lottery tickets and hope you win the money, or you could find a job and earn the money to buy the car. If you already have a job you could save an amount of money each pay day until you have saved enough to buy the car. Regardless of your age, education or experience there are ways to earn money for the things you want and need. There also comes a great feeling of satisfaction when you accomplish a goal you set for yourself.

I remember as a child one of my aunts telling my cousins "things are gonna get better, just wait and see". Well, they didn't get better because they have been sitting around for over 40 years "waiting" for things to get better. My aunt forgot to tell them that THEY have to make things better. When I was a child and my mom was trying to raise us we had to be on welfare. I remember sitting with my mom watching "The Love Boat" on TV. I would tell my mom "when I grow up I'm going to get a good job and save my money so that me and you can go on a ship like the Love Boat". It took a while, hard work and saving money but in time I was able to take my mom on a cruise and we had a great time. My mom's dead now but I will always remember how good and proud of myself I felt to be able to keep my promise to her even though it took years to accomplish.

It depends on whether they are happy or sad when they say it. If they are sad when they make the remark .. then, yes, I think that would be sad. Things do get better. Good Luck ! :)

No, I just think of a beer commercial. I think what they're basically trying to say is that things are going so great they can't get any better.

That just means that person needs change and doesn't like what he or she is doing. Your best bet is to surround yourself around positive thinking people, or just ignore the negative things that person is saying.

That really is one of the most terrible things in life to say... It's almost as if you're setting the rest of your life up to be mediocre.
