It isn't the same situation but I know how you feel. I have a family history of breast cancer and freak out if I find the tiniest thing but am hesitant to go to the doctor because I don't want to hear bad news. But you know what? You HAVE to. Just imagine if there really IS something wrong with you. The longer you wait the more difficult it will be to treat. GO TO YOUR DOCTOR, hon. If nothing else all that blood loss can't be good for your over all health. You might want to think about taking an Iron supplement as well.

BTW, You are NOT likely to have cancer now BECAUSE you waited so long. Cancer is not CAUSED by a delay. It just gets worse for lack of treatment.

Tone? Shame on you.

All the best to you.

Forget being fearful! You KNOW there is something wrong - do something to fix it!
If you're bleeding that heavily for that protracted a period of time, you need to be assessed and find a solution.
If nothing else, you're probably anemic - the body can only tolerate so much blood loss before it loses iron and you become iron-deficient!
More than likely they will try the least invasive technique first, and that is hormonal control -- they will probably prescribe birth control pills to get you regulated and lighten your flow. You are most likely suffering from a severe hormone imbalance...virgin or not, it needs to be looked into!

Bottom line, this is NOT NORMAL! There is NOTHING we can do to help you except to tell you to go see a trained professional!
Call your doctor TODAY and make an appointment - and KEEP IT! Its your body and your health, and no one's going to take care of it unless you step up and do it!

Being a virgin has nothing to do with it. A normal period lasts between 3-8 days only. Anything else, you need to go see a doctor immediately! From what you say, it sounds like it could be fibroids. These can harm your chances of one day having children. If you keep putting off going to the doctor, it's only going to get worse. Give yourself a chance. Good luck!

You need to go see a doctor. I read something the other day that heavy bleeding can cause a person to develop anemia and if you bleed for 3 months at a time then your definitely a high risk of it.

You need to see a doctor, it could be because you are anemic or if you exercise a lot that can play havoc on your menstraul cycle. I know doctor's offices are scary but you need to find out if something will help with your periods. It could be as simple as taking an iron supplement but if you don't see a doctor you can get any better.

It's okay to be scared, you need to call different doctors and explain your fear, most offices will work with you.

Hang in there!

Get to a friggin doctor and ASAP! You are a complete moron! Anyone who has their period for 3 months, stops for a week, let starts again for another month needs to go to the doctor. No one on here is going to be able to help you with that, dear.

Hey U need to consult a gynaec immediately. You may have PCO'S . But don't end up with conclusion. It's because of the Endometrial lining which becomes thicker and thicker and start to rip off and that's why it's heavy. I beleive u have a irregular periods. Sounds like fibroid tumors to me, but better see a doctor as he/she will have to make a complete pelvic examination to be sure.
