eating dessert first or getting only dessert when out in a restaurant? I almost never get dessert because if I eat a regular meal, then I'm too full - some of the places I've been have incredible desserts & I'll never get to try them! So, what would you do?! (this is not a life or death question, just for fun, folks)

Absolutely!
I mean, if you are not a child, then you can make up your own rules once in a while, right?
You know the saying: Life is short, eat dessert first!
Actually, my kid is always worried that she won't have room for dessert if she eats all her main course - but somehow there always IS room. Amazing huh?
Sometimes, we'll eat dinner at home, then walk round to a favorite restaurant and have dessert there - we feel a little less guilty because of the exercise we get walking there and back! Also, we are more inclined to spend on an expensive dessert because we don't have the expense of the whole meal being eaten out.

Go for the dessert…you have the rest of your life to eat an entire day’s recommended allowance of healthy food. In fact my wife and I go out sometimes just for dessert at a nice restaurant (by “nice” I mean a sit down place and not Dairy Queen.)

I love desserts! Sometimes I'll just get an appitizer then dessert. Cuz a full entree will stuff me especially if it is a really big protion.
OR...you could oreder an entree, tell the waiter to only serve you half and pack the rest to take home. Then you will have a great meal later plus you have room for dessert!

I usually just get an appetizer and the dessert. That fills me up. I have also been known to eat the meal and get a dessert and take it home with me for later

Yes I have. I've heard that the Chocolate Explosion at one of the areas restaurants it to die for. We've been there to eat but never have room for dessert. I told my husband that one of these days we're going to go in there and just order dessert so we can see what all the fuss is about.

Dessert first! Dessert first! Always. Why wait for the good stuff? Besides, if you eat your dessert first, it can't get stolen by anyone.

Just get the dessert! Satisfy yourself. Ask someone out for dessert instead of dinner, it's nice.

How about you eat only half of your meal and no appetizers and get the rest of your meal to-go that way you won't be so full to eat dessert!
