Cabo is a wonderful place for a lot of things:
Playing Golf:
There are great Golf Courses, I highly recommend Cabo del Sol, either the desert or the ocean course and Palmilla.
Sportfishing: Baja Boy Sportsfishing, Cortez Yacht Charters
Scuba Diving. Almost every hotel has diving instructors and tours, be sure to get one.
Sightseeing: Be sure to get a tour to Los Arcos, you can also get this in your Hotel.
Restaurants:
Arrecifes
Cabo Wabo (this is a must, its a fun place)
El squid Roe (party place...contests and shots)
Brasil Steak House a bit expensive.
Mariscos Mocambo great seafood and extra value.
Nick-San...yummy sushi.
Tipping is usually like this:
10% if the service wasn't that good but still deserves a tip
15% if the service was good
16-20% if the service was excellent or it is a large group.
Mexico is going though post electoral turmoil, but the main problem is in the Country's capital, not the touristic places, so don't worry.
Do becareful with your belongings while on the street (but don't over do it), there is no need to be worried all the time.
Visit the Nikki Beach Beach Club at the Melia hotel. it is fun.
Good luck with your trip, I hope this was helpful and that you enjoy it very much.

Aaaahhhhhhh Cabo.....such a beautiful place to vacation.
If you do a lot of shopping, beware of pushy street vendors. There is almost always a better deal right around the corner! Haggle w/ them, be persistant.
Also DO NOT give $$ to little kids even if you feel sorry for them. We actually witnessed bigger kids beat up the little ones and take what had been given to them by tourists. You don't want to feel responsible for that.

that's a beautiful place! no real crime down there. at least not that i witnessed.
1. beware of the timeshare people. they are everywhere and they'll try to sell you something.
2. go to the restaurant called "C" at the palmia hotel. bring some money 'cause it's expensive. the nicest place i've ever been to.
3. go snorkeling off a boat called the pez gato. the other boats are not as nice.
have fun!

Yes, watch for all of these and more. There is a heavy crime wave in Mexico right now due to recent elections that were contested. Some areas of mexico are without government and ruled by bandits.
