Depends what e-mail system you are using

Normally you just select the mail and then have an option to "Mark As Unread"

Most e-mail programs have a function that lets you, "mark as unread". Generally if you use your mouse and right click on the e-mail in your inbox, a drop down menu should appear. On it should be a selection of "Mark as Unread". The text will then return to bold as if you have never read the e-mail.

If there is no drop down menu, there may a similar function within the toolbar menus at the top of your e-mail program screen.

Hope this helps.
