Not all North Americans, are obsessed with War.
It's just The Conservatives...they'd rather go to War and spend Billions on it, than to use all that money to work out the problems in Education, Health Care etc.
Since they have no real answers to the problems facing us at home...they go to War and hope that the rest of America forgets about the domestic problems.
Go ahead Conservatives...give me the thumbs down...that's your answer to everything!
If you don't agree with them...you are Anti-American.

Speaking only for myself, not all of North America, I have to say that we do not really have a choice. The world is a small place in these days, and I wish the same opportunities for people in other countries as we have here. Having been raised in a society that frowns on torture, subjugation of a population for any reason is abhorrent. The rights of women are not given to other women around the world and this, also, is wrong.
Obsessed with war? Not hardly. Americans try to help, usually any hurt done is after we are attacked...in the case of Iraq, after REPEATED attacks.

Because history has shown that stability, reason, democracy and human freedom is not a hallmark of other societies in historical terms.
Look at the track record of the Middle East, Africa, South and East Asia, these regions have seen great strife and war over their entire human history. And Europe, well, the bloodiest continent of all.
North America (as you call it) seeks stability on a global basis, so as not to have to confront conflict on our soil. Wars are conducted on a daily basis in almost every continent BUT North America, so the basis of your statement must be questioned.
Other countries' business would not matter to 'North Americans' if it was business conducted sanely, intelligently and peacefully. You can't expect Canada or Mexico or the US to stand by while other nations build weapons and armies that would ostensibly be used to control our economies or societies. When other countries' business tends to affect OUR business, we should and must get involved.

Where were you on September 11, 2001? I take it you have a TV set -- did you see what happened in New York and Washington D.C.? Over 3,000 people who were not at war with anyone and not carrying weapons (heck, they were basically minding their own business and trying to make a living) were killed by a group of radicals for no better reason than the fact that they don't like Americans. And we're supposed to sit back and take that crap?!?!!

Dude, think about it...if you weren't so wrapped up in your pathetic little world you might be able to see all the famine and death and war in third world countries all over. America is simply trying to protect herself from those who want to destroy us. We did not seek out war! War came to us! Whe you get two of the tallest buildings in the world blown up by a bunch of towel-heads who are on a 'holy war' you need to step up to the plate and fight back! Otherwise there will be nothing left of this country except rubble! And therefore, the entire world will cease to exist as we know it because America supplies a ton of the world with food, science, freedom, and anything else civilized. Who came to the aid of the victims of the tsunami? The US. Who saved the French's sorry pansy butts in WWII? Ill give you one guess. We did not get this land by letting the british continue to domineer us, we fought for our land! We fought again and again! So you can go on bashing the USA, but I challenge you to go live in any other country and see how much better it is. (not)

If, for instance, the United States "got into Darfur's business" and stopped genocide, I wouldn't see anything wrong with that. The same goes for the genocide that Saddam Hussein was committing in Iraq.
Furthermore, we were attacked by Al Qaeda, which was based in Afghanistan...so, invading that country was in retaliation...I see that as being justified.
The United States fought for freedom for many European countries in World War II...All justified...
The justifications are endless.

Because of someone like marcel that people think residents of N America are war-like people. By the way, if you include any US states residents who live by waters (because only dumba**es wouldn't) or the Canadians, then you have the majortity of "North American Residents" not obssessed with wars...

Some are. Sadly, those seem to be the people with a slight majority in politics leaving the peaceful ones looking like war mongers.
