"The world" is a very big place. Some people of the world hate the US... but again, the picture isn't so simple. What is most controversial to many world citizens is US foreign policy. There is also a perceived "selfishness" in the US citizens use and waste of world resources.
Some people want to come to the US because of our form of democracy, our healthy economy, our standard of living, and the culture shown in the media world-wide.
Humans "hate" what is bad. They "desire" what is good. The US is, like all countries, is a complicated country and society that continues to work on improving conditions that are bad, and supporting that which is good.

After 9/11 the U.S was seen as occupying the moral high ground and even traditional anti-U.S. factions felt kindly towards us.
That has all been dumped in the sewer by the current administration.
None of that changes the fact that for at least a little while more, people see opportunity in this country. But it IS changing. Many people are making fortunes in their homelands by out-producing the U.S. there. We are no longer a manufacturing country, we just provide services. Services other countries are rapidly learning to provide themselves, often better and always cheaper.

Most of the world doesn't really hate the USA, even though it seems like it. Mainly it is Europeans who feel it is not "cool" to like the USA. I think the USA has an over exposure problem, making us an easy target.

The world loves America and her people. Their hatred is drawn by the governments policies regarding international ethics and morals. Currently the Bush Administration has managed to alienate many of our previous allies and enemies with recent events in the Middle East and other sectors throughout the world.
Another factor would be our hypocrisy to wag the big stick that indicates do as I say; not as I do.

I don't know about that, but what does surprise me is all your advertising about this green card or something, I'm getting crazy about all those adds and spam mail I get about living and working in the USA, and I can take my family and so on..
Of course many people from Africa do everything to get away from there, but its not specific the USA, they want to go to Europe mostly.

You're too dim to grasp the reality, aren't you?
Those that want to go to the US don't think that.
The rest of the world wants you to go home and get out of their countries.
